This and That!!

So much is going on in our life right now, but just thought I'd share a few things!

This girl:

Is the highlight of my life. We recently went to a playdate in Burbank and went to a park. She has been non stop talking about it since Monday!! It's pretty hilarious. She helped me bake cookies today which I will post pics soon. She wanted to eat the cookies so bad while we were making them. She is just getting SO big! I can't even believe that she'll be 2 in a little over a month. She is a sweetheart, but definitely entered the terrible twos like 6 months ago. She is VERY dramatic, but we love her!

And that chair:

Is going to look lovely in my new living room. We found a new place that we love and are actually getting the keys to this afternoon. We were truly blessed through all of this mess and finding this place and getting in so quickly is so great. BUT, that also means the next 2 weeks are basically just going to be packing and unpacking. I hate having boxes everywhere and plan on this all happening nice and quick and smooth. Wish us luck! It might get a little crazy!

TWILIGHT!!

So, I know all you other Twilight readers have seen the movie and totally forgot about it because it came out SO long ago. Well, I had almost given up hope, but today I finally got the opportunity to see it. Took me long enough! My reaction: I liked it. From everyone I heard that it would be pretty cheesy, so I went in with no high expectations. I liked it, though. I thought it stuck to the book pretty good and didn't ruin the visuals I already had in my mind. And I got to go with a group of ladies from church! It was fun! Thanks honey for watching the girl...last minute...so I could take a mommy break! It was soooo needed!

The Stress that is our Life!

So some of you know, but most don't-that we will be moving again soon. We found out recently that our landlord has skipped out on paying the rent for who knows how long. He's having a party with our rent money, I guess! Anyways, we've been told that our condo will be sold at auction the middle of next month. Which means that we are on the lookout for a new place. Yes-we just moved 7 MONTHS ago. What do you do?!?! Just pray that we can find something soon and get away from this mess! Oh the stress that life brings us. Oh well. I can pack up and find a new place and not lose my mind in a month's time. I know I can :)

The Miracle!!

THIS:

NEVER HAPPENS AT OUR HOUSE!!!

Tyler always dreamed of the day that she would just fall asleep on her own. It finally happened. This girl just NEVER calms down. So, yeah...this was a miracle!

Our Little Trip!!

So, Tyler and me had a fabulous 24 hours away! No kid! It was a beautiful thing. I remember talking to my friend Julie recently about how needed this kind of thing is, and she was SO right. You just forget about all the responsibility and can focus on each other and things that you don't get to do because they just are so much more work with a toddler! My mom came down and stayed with Makena-THANK YOU, THANK YOU MOM!!! Me and Tyler went out to eat...TWICE! Went to the movies, got dessert out, went to the beach and just had a fun time! It was lovely. Leave the kids home and do this soon! All we had was 24 hours, but it was fabulous!! Obviously I didn't take too many pictures, but here are a few from the beach in Newport. It was a beautiful weekend!
It was like 85 degrees that day. It was January!!!

4 YEARS!

It has been four wonderful years since we got married. It's funny because sometimes it seems like it has flown by and then other times it seems like it has been so much longer. I am grateful to be married to such a patient and loving husband. He truly grounds me and loves me completely! I LOVE YOU TYLER and can't wait to spend an eternity with you! You are amazing!
I am so excited that tomorrow my mom is coming down to stay with Makena and me and Tyler are going to have an all day and night date! I can hardly contain myself that I get a whole day away!! That was my anniversary wish! Details to follow. For now I am enjoying the day and getting ready for the weekend! Happy Anniversary to ME!

Oh Sister!!

So, I have been thinking a lot about my little sister today! She is such a great person. I still remember the night that she was born...20 years ago! I remember staying the night at my grandparents and not really sleeping that night. I heard the phone ring and I knew that was the call. My baby sister was here. I had a sister. I was between my two brothers and was so excited to have a sister. She has been such a great little sister. Shanitz- You are amazing. I don't envy the stage of your life that you are in, but enjoy it. Before we all know it you'll be moving on to bigger and better things! Just a few things that I LOVE about my sister, Candice.
*She always says what she thinks-we have that in common :) and it is usually the most random and hilarious things you could think of.
*She always has new crazy 'dos that I love to see. (She is currently in beauty school with only 4 months left!)
*She is sensitive...it's a good thing
*She loves her family more than most people do! And we love her too!
* She has a great sense of fashion that people like me envy. I just throw on clothes...she actually spends time thinking about it!
* She is just a beautiful girl inside and out. She has a beautiful spirit that you just want to be around!
Candice-I love you so much and couldn't have asked for a better little sister! You're my favorite :) HAPPY 20th Birthday Can!

Beautiful Prints!!

I saw this on a fellow bloggers website (Thanks Kitchen Ditcher :)) and wanted to join in. These are all beautiful pictures by an amazing artist. I wanted to share these beautiful pictures and what the artist has to say about each one of them! David Bowman: has had a passion for art ever since he could pick up a pencil. He loves creating images of the Savior that inspire and uplift. Along with his Christian fine art, David has also written and illustrated a series of scripture storybooks for children titled "Who's Your Hero". Check out his website at http://bowman-art.com/indexFineart.htm to see more of his precious art.

"Innocence"The Savior tells us we need to become as little children to inherit the kingdom of God. I've often wondered what it is about little children Jesus loves most, and I think its their innocence. They are clean slates, seeing the world and others through untarnished eyes. Their hearts are pure, without the baggage of cynicism and self-doubt. In this piece, I've tried to imagine how a child would act upon meeting the Master for the first time. Without reservation or inhibition, I think he would simply want to play with Him. He would be at complete ease, allowing his pure little heart to soak in the love and laughter of His pure, infinite heart. Its no wonder Christ delights in these little ones and sets them up to be our examples.

"Security"One of the greatest human needs is a sense of security. In all aspects of life, we naturally gravitate towards anything that makes us feel safe. In this piece, I wanted to convey a sense of complete peace and calm like only the Savior can provide. It's a security that allows us to rest assured, without fear or worry, when we put ourselves trustingly in His arms. Little children have that inherent kind of trust in their parents, so it's fitting that the man and girl who modeled for "Security" are actually father and daughter. They generatedthe exact feel I was looking for.

"My Child"This piece conveys an intimate, up-close-and-personal feeling of the Savior's love. Notice how all the lines draw your attention and point towards Jesus' face in the center. I chose the name "My Child" because the only thing that could compare (even remotely) to Christ's compassion for us is the love of a parent for his/her child. This image is also intended to put things in perspective. Above all, we are God's children first. He allows us the privilege of experiencing parenthood for ourselves and we are entrusted to be the mothers and fathers of His children here on earth.

22 Months!

Happy New year everyone!! We spent a great day together!! We ended up at the beach because I wanted to do a little photo shoot of Makena, since she is 22 months old TODAY and I wanted to test out my camera more!! It was freezing by the beach and foggy, but I got a lot of great shots! Here's just a few! We sure love her. She is a precious little girl!!
