28 Weeks!!!

And the countdown continues! 12 weeks is not much, and hopefully it's shorter than that because I am already tired of being pregnant. This just happened recently and I am pretty sure it is because it's been so hot! I can't even handle it! I've recently found a couple good finds on craigslist and at a kids consignment sale! Nothing make having two kids more real than bringing home your DOUBLE stroller :) We are getting excited and just can't wait to have this little girl as part of our family.

The Fair

We went this last weekend for our annual Orange County Fair trip. My parents and sister, Candice, met us there. It was a good time. Lots of food and animals and fun people to watch. Makena rode a pony and an elephant-my camera died before the elephant ride--STUPID!!! She made my mom go in the petting zoo twice. Thanks mom!! She rode on my dad's shoulders basically the entire time. I thought she liked the fair last year, but this year she was way more into it. She just looked at the pictures with me and said we go on the animals next week...SORRY, NO!!! But it was a fun time!!

She loved the pumpkins and other vegetables. She tried to eat a few tomatoes too!

Riding Mocha the pony!!

This is why you go to the fair. Fried anything you can imagine...

Dragging my mom around to see the animals!

The pregnant girl at the fair! It was too hot for me :)

The Queen of Quite A Lot!

Somebody runs this house. And sadly, it isn't me. Makena is very bossy. I feel bad for little one # 2. She will have a sassy, bossy, sometimes naughty big sister. But she is also so loving. She tells me everyday how she's going to love the baby, and get the baby diapers and babas, and hugs and kisses. She went with us today to my doctor's appointment and can't stop talking about hearing mommy's belly. It's her baby sister you know. Somedays I feel like I can handle two little girls. No problem. And somedays I think oh my gosh, Almost 100 days and I'll be the mother of 2. I feel inadequate to the challenge. I love my girls so much, but raising kids-and I only have one-is the hardest job one can have. And that is the truth. Since I became a mom, the admiration I have for my own has grown tenfold. 4 kids?!?!? How did you do it? Then I look at this beautiful child and I can't imagine my crazy life without her. I feel this baby kick me like crazy and I think about 17 weeks ago when the doctor gave her a 50% chance of even coming to this wolrd, and I feel incredibly blessed. Isn't being a mom great? Even if my girl has majorly entered the stage of "MINE", "NOW", "NEVER" ya, never..., "I WANT"! Oh, and she's only 2. What's a mommy to do?
Here's our latest photo shoot. I have been way behind on pictures, so here are the newest attempts. These were taken yesterday...she is 28 months old. 2 more months and she's a two and a half year old. And I know I'm biased, but she's pretty dang cute!!

I know, I know!

I used to be so up to date on my blog, but I guess life just happens! We have been keeping very busy with lots of different things. I'll try to share a few.

We recently went on our first real beach trip of the season with my family! Makena was in love, and didn't want to stay away from the water at all!

We've also been trying to take advantage of our Disneyland passes before we can't go during the summer-not like we'd want to anyways! Makena loves it, and it's a fun thing for us to do with just her and get some exercise. Her favorite thing is the parade at California Adventure, and the Monster's Inc. ride.

Then for my birthday weekend we went to restaurant that I love in Upland called Vince's with my family and went up to visit them for the weekend. Makena loves going to visit up there. She helped Tyler wash our car and played with Logan and watched her cousins baseball games. It was a fun weekend and I took some pictures of the beautiful sunset. That is one thing I love about Phelan.

And as for baby news, she is doing GREAT!! Everything looked great from the ultrasound and the stinking placenta finally found its way to a better spot which is great news. She is growing and moving and we couldn't be happier about that. We feel extremely blessed that everything looks normal with her. And do you want to know her name...well first. We can't decide on a middle yet, but we are pretty sure she will be.......JADE! This picture is almost a month old of me already so you can figure I am quite a bit bigger. Yippee!!1

Oh, Mother's Day!!!

Today was going to be a peaceful day. A day of rest and spoiling. A day to put up my feet and my husband would take care of everything. It all sounded so fabulous. Until I got woken up by my girl pulling on my eyelashes and smacking me in the head at least an hour before she should have been up. Fine, fine! I am a mom. I can handle this. Well today at church Makena decided that this was going to be the worst. She had lots of energy before we left and we couldn't keep her contained. I think she asked the lady sitting next to us for hand sanitizer at least 5 times in 5 minutes. She was too kind to be nice to our little girl. Then off to nursery, to play with all the other children, but we walk in and she screams...screams. And even though I said I would stay with her she still takes forever to calm down. Then before the next class Tyler came to relieve me and she freaked out again. Needless to say. Biggest tantrum she's ever had. EVER!! She threw herself on the floor and screamed, and cried til she gagged and then ran outside our house and was smacking her head on the wall!! It was a great mother's day treat to say the least. Since waking up from her nap she's been a lot better, but that really put a damper on my relaxing, peaceful day. Oh well, there's always next year...when we throw another child into the mix!! Because isn't that what being a mother's all about??

Who can stay mad at this face?? Priceless (her cheese face!)

Finally...an update!!

So I guess life moves on whether you are feeling up to it or not! The past 7 weeks (ugh..is that all it's been??) I have been feeling so sick all day long. I have to give major props to my husband who has really stepped up and taken over everything while I lay around feeling sick. He is great! Even though I've been feeling terrible and was supposed to be taking it easy, we have still managed to do a few fun things as a family. If you have a while there's quite a few new posts. We hope you are all doing well and hopefully I am on the uphill now. Wouldn't that be fabulous!!

Baby Update!

Well, some of you may know I have been having a few complications with my pregnancy. On top of being sick and regular pregnancy stresses, we have ha d a lot to worry about. I went to another doctor's appointment yesterday and they doctor said the baby looks fine. Perfect, actually. The baby was moving around and it was GREAT to see!! We have been so blessed through all this worry. I know that my Heavenly Father has heard our prayers. So, so far so good. I am now 13 weeks so hopefully I'll be feeling much better soon. And things can settle down for a little while.
Here's baby yesterday at 13 weeks 2 days. Growing so much. It looks just like a baby instead of a bean!! So fun!
