A Baby Update...

So I went to the doctor on Tuesday and she said I was already 3cm dilated and 75 % effaced. Yippee!!! So she said basically the baby could come any day. Pretty much as soon as my appointment was over I started having contractions. Nothing regular, but it was a start, right. So here I am 2 DAYS later still having irregular painful contractions. They start getting regular and then go away! Seriously this girl is giving me a run for my money. Hopefully she gets here soon. I can't even handle it. Lucky for us though my mom is AMAZING and called me yesterday to say she was coming to get Makena to stay at her house. It's been a nice break before the craziness gets even crazier!! We miss her too much already though. So that's our update. Hopefully the next post-like tomorrow- is that Jade is here! I don't know how much longer I can wait!!

Life as we know it...

Is not very exciting at the moment. All I do is think about when this baby girl is coming. Hopefully sooner rather than later. My countdown says 19 days...Holy cow, 19 days! Makena was a week early exactly. I could handle that. The doctor says I am measuring big-like 39 weeks instead of 37. Maybe that's a good sign. Thought I'd just let anyone who checks this know that we are still alive. I will post soon on showers and tomorrow's ultrasound which hopefully gives us a heads up about the size situation with this little one. Hopefully she's still little :)

Beach Day

We went on Saturday to Newport with my family. It was a HOT day, but it was fun. Makena still keeps talking about how her and daddy were surfing. Not so much, but she thought it was fun. Until she got taken out out by a little wave. We love living in Southern California for the beach and the weather, but we don't take advantage of it enough. It was a fun family day!!! Sun, snacks, lots of sand.

Makena is just getting too big. I realize it, but then I look at pictures and she is totally a big girl now! It's so bittersweet.

She LOVES her Papa!!! They spent lots of time together in the water and off looking for crabs!

And not like anyone needs to see this but it needs to be documented that Jade was there and accounted for. I'm now at 34 weeks!!!! SO CLOSE!! I don't know if I can get much bigger! So I am ready for her to come!

Hope you all had a great labor day weekend!

The Deer!

SO this morning I get woken up by Tyler coming in to let me know that he had just hit a DEER on the way into work. It happened about 5 minutes from our house and luckily he was fine and able to get back home somehow! When I went out to look at it this morning I didn't know how he could drive it home! It is so jacked up! It's already towed and at a body shop so now we just have to wait and find out the damage. We know this...the deer didn't make it! Sad, but I think it must have been a little suicidal since it jumped right into the front passenger side of the car!! What a GREAT way to start out our week!!!

Bargain Time!!!

So I have always had an eye for a bargain. I mean, why pay the full price for something when you can get it for way less?? There are a few items we were in need of for the new baby so I've kept my eye out. Recently I found our double stroller for $55 on Craigslist. Great condition! Today I was at Target and found a Graco infant carseat for $44. Obviously brand new. (We needed a new one because our old one barely fit in the car with just one kid in the backseat!) We've found some great things lately at Marshalls, TJ MAXX, and Ross! I love a good steal. Anyone else love the thrill of a bargain, and found anything worth noting??

28 Weeks!!!

And the countdown continues! 12 weeks is not much, and hopefully it's shorter than that because I am already tired of being pregnant. This just happened recently and I am pretty sure it is because it's been so hot! I can't even handle it! I've recently found a couple good finds on craigslist and at a kids consignment sale! Nothing make having two kids more real than bringing home your DOUBLE stroller :) We are getting excited and just can't wait to have this little girl as part of our family.

The Fair

We went this last weekend for our annual Orange County Fair trip. My parents and sister, Candice, met us there. It was a good time. Lots of food and animals and fun people to watch. Makena rode a pony and an elephant-my camera died before the elephant ride--STUPID!!! She made my mom go in the petting zoo twice. Thanks mom!! She rode on my dad's shoulders basically the entire time. I thought she liked the fair last year, but this year she was way more into it. She just looked at the pictures with me and said we go on the animals next week...SORRY, NO!!! But it was a fun time!!

She loved the pumpkins and other vegetables. She tried to eat a few tomatoes too!

Riding Mocha the pony!!

This is why you go to the fair. Fried anything you can imagine...

Dragging my mom around to see the animals!

The pregnant girl at the fair! It was too hot for me :)

The Queen of Quite A Lot!

Somebody runs this house. And sadly, it isn't me. Makena is very bossy. I feel bad for little one # 2. She will have a sassy, bossy, sometimes naughty big sister. But she is also so loving. She tells me everyday how she's going to love the baby, and get the baby diapers and babas, and hugs and kisses. She went with us today to my doctor's appointment and can't stop talking about hearing mommy's belly. It's her baby sister you know. Somedays I feel like I can handle two little girls. No problem. And somedays I think oh my gosh, Almost 100 days and I'll be the mother of 2. I feel inadequate to the challenge. I love my girls so much, but raising kids-and I only have one-is the hardest job one can have. And that is the truth. Since I became a mom, the admiration I have for my own has grown tenfold. 4 kids?!?!? How did you do it? Then I look at this beautiful child and I can't imagine my crazy life without her. I feel this baby kick me like crazy and I think about 17 weeks ago when the doctor gave her a 50% chance of even coming to this wolrd, and I feel incredibly blessed. Isn't being a mom great? Even if my girl has majorly entered the stage of "MINE", "NOW", "NEVER" ya, never..., "I WANT"! Oh, and she's only 2. What's a mommy to do?
Here's our latest photo shoot. I have been way behind on pictures, so here are the newest attempts. These were taken yesterday...she is 28 months old. 2 more months and she's a two and a half year old. And I know I'm biased, but she's pretty dang cute!!

I know, I know!

I used to be so up to date on my blog, but I guess life just happens! We have been keeping very busy with lots of different things. I'll try to share a few.

We recently went on our first real beach trip of the season with my family! Makena was in love, and didn't want to stay away from the water at all!

We've also been trying to take advantage of our Disneyland passes before we can't go during the summer-not like we'd want to anyways! Makena loves it, and it's a fun thing for us to do with just her and get some exercise. Her favorite thing is the parade at California Adventure, and the Monster's Inc. ride.

Then for my birthday weekend we went to restaurant that I love in Upland called Vince's with my family and went up to visit them for the weekend. Makena loves going to visit up there. She helped Tyler wash our car and played with Logan and watched her cousins baseball games. It was a fun weekend and I took some pictures of the beautiful sunset. That is one thing I love about Phelan.

And as for baby news, she is doing GREAT!! Everything looked great from the ultrasound and the stinking placenta finally found its way to a better spot which is great news. She is growing and moving and we couldn't be happier about that. We feel extremely blessed that everything looks normal with her. And do you want to know her name...well first. We can't decide on a middle yet, but we are pretty sure she will be.......JADE! This picture is almost a month old of me already so you can figure I am quite a bit bigger. Yippee!!1
